Cheddar and Scallion Soda Bread Recipe

Cheddar and scallion soda bread is a deliciously savory spin on a traditional soda bread.

INGREDIENTS

- All purpose flour - Sugar - Kosher salt - Baking soda - Cheddar cheese - Scallions - Buttermilk - Butter - Sea salt

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and grease the bottom of a ceramic Dutch oven (or a non-greased cast iron skillet if you prefer) with 1 Tbsp butter.

INSTRUCTIONS

Turn out the dough onto a lightly floured surface and form into a round, no need to knead. Transfer to the prepared pan and cut a shallow cross in the center of the bread.

Brush with the melted butter and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Cover and bake for 30 mins, remove the cover and continue to bake an additional 12-15 mins, or until golden brown.

Cool slightly, cut into wedges, and serve with butter if desired.
