If you think you’re not a breakfast person well, these peanut butter and jelly overnight oats will convince you otherwise. Why? It’s simple:

  • Taste always reigns supreme and these overnight oats taste just like your favorite PB&J.
  • I’m a blueberry lover, so I used blubbery preserves in place of the traditional grape jelly and added a handful of fresh blueberries to get my fruit fix.
  • Sure, these oats need to set up overnight, but they mix up in just a couple minutes. Easy peasy.
  • Breakfast will be ready for you as soon as you wake up. It’s a huge time saver on a busy morning!

These overnight oats are delicious right out of the frig with an extra handful of berries sprinkled over the top, but you can also gently heat them if you prefer warm oatmeal.

Let’s make Peanut Butter and Jelly Overnight Oats

Step by step photos showing how to make Peanut Butter and Jelly Overnight Oats. Put the oats in a jar and top with peanut butter (1), add honey and blueberries (2) top with milk (3) stir and add jam (4).
  1. Pour the oats in a mason jar, container or bowl. Spoon in the peanut butter.
  2. Add the honey and blueberries.
  3. Pour the milk over and stir. Be sure the oats are fully submerged.
  4. Spoon in the blueberry preserves and lightly stir. Cover tightly and refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight. Serve with additional fruit if desired to serve.

Tips for success

  • Be sure to use old-fashioned (NOT quick cooking) oats for this recipe. Quick cooking oats will become mushy if left in milk overnight.
  • I like a drizzle of honey for sweetness, but you can use agave or even omit it entirely if the jam is sweet enough for you.
  • Use you favorite milk (whole, nut milk, etc.) if nonfat isn’t your thing. Just be sure the oats are fully submerged before chilling.
  • A mason jar with a tight fitting lid is the ideal vessel for overnight oats, but any small jar or bowl will work as long as it is covered before refrigerating.
