Say hello to peach sangria slushies…sangria blended with fresh peaches and served ice cold!.
Today we have a grown up treat…peach sangria slushies! This is everything you love about sangria, but frozen and blended into an icy drink.
This slushie is no watered down cocktail, in fact you won’t need any ice at all to make this deliciously icy drink. The wine and liquor are swirled in a baking pan and popped into the freezer to set.
Because of the alcohol content it won’t freeze solid, so next we’re going to peel and slice up some fresh peaches and get those into the freezer as well to act as our “ice cubes”.
Now the only hard part about making this cocktail is patience, because you do have to wait at least six hours (or overnight) for the peaches and wine mixture to freeze.
Once they’ve hardened, it’s time to blend. Grab your blender, add the slushie wine mixture, the frozen peaches and a squeeze of agave for sweetness.
Then blend, garnish, and slurp. These peach sangria slushies are the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day.
Tips for success
- This recipe is all about planning ahead! You can freeze your peach slices and wine mixture up to a week in advance.
- Peaches are notoriously a pain to peel, but a quick dunk in boiling water makes it a cinch.
- If you have really ripe and sweet peaches you may want to reduce the amount of agave. Start with just half, taste, and adjust.
- If you can’t find peach vodka, regular vodka may be substituted.
